Assignment:
The Co-Manager works closely with peers, enrollees, and volunteers under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.
The co-manager will oversee the daily operations of the store, our Preston enrollees, and volunteers.
They will ensure staff is properly trained, merchandise is inventoried, priced, and displayed in addition to focusing on sales, promotions, and growth opportunities while providing excellent customer service to our patrons and community partners.
Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalency.
One (1) year of relevant supervisory work experience.
Retail experience preferred.
Additional Requisites:
Accurate recordkeeping skills for inventory, sales, and other requested reports.
Perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with YWCA policies and applicable laws.
Use of dispute resolution skills to satisfactorily resolve customer and YWCA client complaints.
Requires decision-making skills that affect other people, financial resources, and/or the image and reputation of the YWCA.
Communication skills both verbal and written for varied audiences including customers, YWCA partners, directors, and donors.
Responds to the needs of the store with a strong sense of urgency and a willingness to move with purpose.
Organization and prioritization skills to complete tasks in the required timeframe.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Must pass a criminal background check
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist with the interview and hiring process.
Coach employees to deliver excellent customer service.
Resolve customer complaints and handle difficult clients.
Supervise staff, enrollees, and volunteers; manage performance to promote YWCA goals and mission.
Monitor inventory, productivity, and promotions to ensure store sales are not negatively impacted.
Review and approve timesheets for payroll processing for both YWCA and the Preston enrollees.
Maintain good communication with the Preston Aging office.
Monitor compliance of Preston enrollees by following the expectations of the YWCA and of Preston Aging.
Maintain proper accountability for cash handling, including reconciliations and deposits.
Create a staff schedule to meet customer service needs.
Complete and submit monthly reports and review financial statements.
Monitor the YWCA Voucher process by resolving client issues and working with other YWCA Program Directors as needed.
Support events that promote the store, generate community exposure and help achieve sales goals.
Monitor and record store supplies and order/shop in a cost-effective manner by utilizing the lowest cost provider or partnerships with other programs in the YWCA discount opportunities.
Monitor and report building maintenance issues.
